WHY I'M WALKING THE WALK

All of us in the team have been affected by a friend, family or love one that is fighting cancer. Let's raise some money and make a difference.

And this is why I love my job as an author ... What a lovely letter to wake up to xx

Dear Christie,
I've pondered for a while about writing this letter to you. I have recently read your book The Misadventures of a Playground Mother and not only did I thoroughly enjoy your book I feel my family needs to thank you sincerely from the bottom of our hearts. Rachel's diagnosis of breast cancer in the storyline drew my attention to similar symptoms I was experiencing myself. After reading Rachel's story I took myself off to the doctors and was diagnosed with breast cancer. I have now started chemotherapy.
Your writing is breath-takingly humorous with an underlying message and I will forever be in your debt for reading this book. Thank you for writing it.
Best wishes,
Irene x

All of us in the team have been affected by a friend, family or love one that is fighting cancer .
The lady in the photo is Annie - Annie was diagnosed 9 years ago with a form of Breast Cancer that they knew very little about . Her initial prognosis was she had 13 weeks .

Here we are now 9 years later ..

She has endured many chemo's and surgery's and then to top it all 3 years ago, Annie's husband left her . Annie has 3 children - her youngest is 8 - yes Annie was pregnant when she found out she had cancer.

2 weeks ago , Annie's chemo treatment has been stopped as its not working and she is now awaiting surgery to try and remove one of the tumours - after that its drug trials.

Annie's determination to fight for every day is amazing .
She tirelessly raises money for CRUK and has appeared in many of their commercials. Last year she was awarded the flame of Hope award by CRUK .
I personally have known Annie 20 plus years - she is an amazing lady and one that I am proud to call her my friend/Amigo . XX

Please donate to our team - its with funding that research and medicine can give us all Hope

UPDATE :

The team took on the challenge and we all got round the 26.2 mile course in the dead of night going round London . It was the hardest challenge any of us have undertaken . Our shoulders and smiles were lifted when our inspiration - Ann was standing waiting for us at the finish line .
Ann has been through a marathon of her own since March - she has endured 3 operations , countless nights in hospital away from her children and is now about to take on the next challenge - chemo in order to try and control the tumours that had gone on the rampage in her clavical and shoulder whilst she was undergoing life saving surgery.
We are on a mission to get to £10k - please help us achieve this xx
